| NEW YEARS MESSAGE FROM THE MASTER As we begin the New Year, the goal of Wambua's Martial Arts is to reach as many people as possible, and bring them to be part of the science of Marital Arts. Wambua's Martial Arts Academy doesn't just teach students how to fight, but much more.. Although a strong emphasis is put on Self-Defense skills, students are also taught respect (To parents, teachers, authority, and one another), Discipline, and Self Control. While students receive a lot of training to master their self-defense skills, they also go through a lot of physical conditioning routines and put through a lot of challenges to improve their mental toughness and survival skills. This kind of training is geared at preparing students for any challenges that may lay ahead. It is not easy to find this kind of training, which addresses all the above mentioned areas in one program, and that is why Wambua's Martial Arts Academy is unique. It produces a well-rounded Martial Artist who can also excel in other activities. As parents decide what activities to enroll their kids in this year, I am appealing to them to consider Martial Arts, to give their children the gift of self-defense and survival skills. They need to understand that every kid has the right to know how the defend him/herself. While dance studios are packed to capacity, most of the Martial Arts schools are not even halfway full, and yet time and again you see on the news kids being abducted, molested, or bullied. Why do parents have to wait until something like this happens to their child. Why do they always think its going to be someone else's child but not their own? Parents need to know that any child can be a victim on any given day. I'm not claiming Martial Arts training has all the answers to all situations, but does to many of them if taught right, and from a credible school. |
